Where to Get Testosterone Labs in Utah, and How to Prep
Where Utah men get testosterone labs drawn through A2Z, how to prepare for an early-morning fasting draw, and what the panel checks.
If you start TRT through A2Z, your lab order goes to Quest Diagnostics. Here is where Utah men get drawn, how to prepare, and what the panel looks at.
Where draws happen in Utah
Quest Diagnostics' own Utah location pages list patient service centers in Murray, Draper, Layton, St. George (at Hillside Health on East Riverside Drive) and Logan, among others.
The easiest way to find the closest site is Quest's location finder at questdiagnostics.com/locations/search. Enter your home or work ZIP code and pick a site and time that fit your morning.
How to prepare
Testing prefers an early-morning fasting draw, so plan the appointment before breakfast and before work. If you work non-traditional hours, tell your provider. They will tell you when to schedule the draw so the reading is useful.
What the panel checks
Total and free testosterone: the core measure, with free testosterone calculated from SHBG.
SHBG: sex hormone-binding globulin, which affects how much testosterone is bioavailable.
Estradiol: testosterone aromatizes to estradiol, so it is tracked to manage side effects.
CBC with hematocrit: monitored before and during treatment, especially at elevation.
PSA: for men over 40, prostate monitoring before and during treatment.
What labs cost
Initial labs are included in the TRT program. Follow-up labs are billed separately, $74 each, when your provider orders them.
Common questions
Do I need to fast?
Testing prefers an early-morning fasting draw. Your provider will confirm what to do for your order.
Can I use a lab site near work instead of home?

Why is hematocrit on the panel?
Hematocrit is monitored before and during treatment, especially at elevation, and most of Utah sits at elevation.
